I've read that breast cancer patients get treated in Mexico with Vitamin B17; the only known killer of cancer because it breaks down the wall of estrogen surrounding the individual cancer cells. I need a personal testimony from someone who has been cured or someone who knows someone who has been cured. This is not for research as much as it is to help someone I know with cancer. Thanks in advance.
Can anyone give a testimony that Vitamin B17 cured them of breast cancer?
Please don't let your friend get ripped off by this scam.
Reply:What a pile of garbage! the stupid study only gave one 10th of the amount of b17! Thats why it wasnt effective. People can get any result they like! you gotta think about details! Report Abuse

Reply:There is no 'quick cure' for breast cancer. If B17 worked then oncologist would be giving it. The only thing your friend can do is take FDA approved medicine. Remember, if it sounds to good to be true then it's probably not.
Reply:There is no medical vitamin b17, it's just a fancy name for laetril of which the main ingredient is cyanide. It's a poison.
Because of the persistent myth about b17, there have been clinical studies done . . no benefit could be found:

I want to be a medical researcher but I don't know where to start?
I love learning about the human body, i think its so fascinating...i really want to work in medical research, specifically genetic links to disease/cancer research...do you think it would be better to study biomedical science or study medicine, then do a research PhD?
thank u for ur help :)
I want to be a medical researcher but I don't know where to start?
First you take high school biology - the honors or AP section. Get an 'A' then take as much chemistry as you can. You definitely cannot get any kind of career in medical research without a knowledge of chemistry. Take regular chemistry, then Honors or AP afterwards. Really get it down cold. Then you need to know statistics well so that you can evaluate all the results of the research that you do. So take AP stats.
When you go to college, you could major in biology, but that would leave you taking a lot of courses about animals or plants or whatever that are not too relevant to human biology. So, either look for a college that has a specific major in human biology, or else allows you to concentrate in that area.. Med school would be a good plan, because if you are doing research directly on humans, most of the time an MD has to be involved to be sure that no harm comes to the subjects. Where else are you going to get four years of really concentrated study on the human body but in med school?
So, that means you have to do all your premed courses and do well in them. Organic chemistry and biochemistry especially. That's why you need a lot of chem in HS.
An alternative that bypasses some of this, would be if you were in physical therapy. That would greatly limit the areas you could work in, but the work you would be doing would be interesting and give you a good living.
The one thing you can NOT do is stop at the Bachelor's level. If you work in research with only a BA or BS you will always be some PhDs "go-fer" and make a lousy salary.
Reply:you're gonna have to get a degree in biochemistry or the like and then deside if you want to do pure research or work on humans as well. for some you need the PhD/MD path, but for some just a PhD in Chemistry or Biochemistry will do. If you're unsure start looking at grad schools and find someone you could see yourself working for. then make sure you have the requirements to get in that program.
Reply:yeah but realise that having an MD-PhD is very expensive and time consuming and many people that are able to make it to medical school who wanted to go into research have decided against research because they make half of what MDs make. So when you look at the time and the amount of student loans you may have ( or may not, if you have it like that), it is a tough decision. but we definately need more MD-PhDs. But I know medical doctors who wished they went into research because of the more relaxed hours, not having to deal with insurance companies etc. Then I know researchers ( PhDs) who wished they went into medical school so they could earn more money and have more respect. Before you start make sure you weigh everything carefully costs included

Do Americans Die From Cancer More Than Any Other Nation in the World?
Everywhere I turn my head in the U.S, I meet someone who has cancer, has a loved one with cancer, or survived (or died).
I think the cancer rate in this country is so catastrophic, more so than any other nation in the world. I don't think even very developing countries have the cancer problems we do. Why is that? Is the food and processed junk mostly to blame? If so, why do I meet or have heard of so many "heatlhy" people (don't smoke, eat right, excecise) who have developed or died from cancer when they are still pretty young?
We put so much money (or least that's what they say) into cancer research, yet so many healthy Americans die from it every year at increasing alarming rates. Americans use sunscreen frantically, yet we die from skin cancer more than any other nation (I actually have a holistic practicing friend who says SUNSCREEN itself actually causes skin cancer).
Are Americans dying at a much younger age? It sure seems like it!
Do Americans Die From Cancer More Than Any Other Nation in the World?
Try to think of it this way . . you are noticing cancer more and more not because people are getting it more . .what is happening is that more and more people are SURVIVING cancer. In the past people simply died and you never heard about it . .that was how fast cancer traveled . .there were hardly any treatments that lead to remission. In today's world people are getting treatments and living longer than they ever did in the past.
The cancer statistics gathered for the US in 2007 indicate an overall decline in cancer deaths and incidence (depending on the type of cancers).

You can study the cancer statistics by each country in the world . In the US . . and in industrialized areas . . there are people who get cancer . .but who are treated and survive . .whereas in the third world nations people are still getting cancer but they are dying because of lack of good medical treatments.

Curing cancer... is it a hopeless quest?
I've been around since the 1970s. All my life, I've been
hearing about these "wonderful breakthroughs" in cancer
research... my teachers telling me as a little kid, that cancer
would be 100% cured by the time I grew up (this after a
teacher at my school died of cancer in 1976 or therebouts);
that a cure was "right around the corner."
*Well, its been the LONGEST goddam corner I've ever seen.*
Almost 40 years gone by since Nixon declared "war" on cancer. And cancer treatment is damn near as useless TODAY, as it was back then.
Could it be, that we as a species lack the intelligence to find
a cure for cancer? (Just like a chimpanzee lacks the intelligence to build a car?)
Perhaps a cure for cancer is MANY THOUSANDS of years away (even if our civilization doesn't collapse beforehand.) Could it be, that medical science has gone as far as it can, given our mental capacity as a species? And now it will stagnate, unchanging, for thousands of centuries - even as it has for the last 50 years?
Curing cancer... is it a hopeless quest?
well there are many deseases that we thought that we wouldnt be able to cure but after some time came up with a vaccine. it may take thousand of years but sooner or later, we'll find a cure for it. but then again, with the body being able to adapt and change, one day the body will be able to fight off cancer on it own.
Reply:Cancer involves many different cancers. Cancer is not just one type of thing. Certainly many types have been "cured". It's just that there are many more that have not. Many strides have been made. They have found 16 different viruses that cause cancer that are spread through sex (STDs). They have a vaccine that prevents 4 of these viruses and are soon to release a vaccine that prevents 8 of these viral infections. These cancers cause throat cancer, penile cancer, uterine cancer, rectal cancer, etc. Anywhere the viruses infect. Isn't that a fabulous advancement that people can get a vaccine to prevent getting these? Have hope.... they are working on it!

Reply:The cure itself may be a long time away, but we can all do a better ob of eating whole foods - the foods God provides, and drinking lots of water. I believe it's the toxins in all of the processed foods we are eating as a society.
Reply:Curing cancer is not a hopeless quest. Many people get "cured" every day. There are many types of cancer and we are not concentrating on just one...it is actually many diseases, not just one. It's hard to beat something that every human being carries (with all of us having cancer cells).
Do not believe our species is incapable of finding an answer.
Hope is always the best battle against anything...it is best we don't give up.
They keep saying we are just around the corner from curing many diseases...the reality is that we could have a breakthrough any day...or not.
Just keep on believing.

I could go on and on about this but I can't...go look at organic and natural health remedies...;

Cancer Cure....?
I don't believe in giving money to any cancer research even though I have had about 3 family members die from it. There is already a cure for cancer found in Africa that is HIGHLY illegal in America. You make the herb into a tea and then drink it once a day for a week and the cancer goes away. Why is it fair that devloping countries get to have a cure for cancer that is natural and does not kill the immune system by injecting poisin in your body (chemo) but the fat cats at all the pharmicutial companies can watch their and other peoples's family memebers die and not do anything. A cure for cancer was found, but it was kept hush-hush because people wouldn't pay the companies al kinds of unnessary money. My aunt who died at 50 who had bone cancer that put her in a whole lot of pain could have lived 30, 40, maybe even 50 more years. Does this make me a bad person like some people think? What are your thoughts on the subject?
Cancer Cure....?
There will not be a cure for cancer due to the fact that there is so much money to be made off of cancer. If we cured it would take away the cash cow. I agree with you all the way.
Reply:That "cure" to which you refer, has not been tested or approved by ANY medical group worldwide. Also, it does not have a very impressive success rate.
However, thee is more research yet to be done.
While I do agree that the major companies in medicine are more interested in lining their pockets than saving lives that does NOT mean that I will keep my money from such good organizations as The American Cancer Society or Cancer Support Groups. We should not withhold funds that help in a small way because it won't go to help in the way we want. That's just selfish and ridiculous.
Reply:are you serious ???
do you believe this ? herbal drink and you are cure ?
please tell me what it is ,,,,
I am oncologest , spent lot of time doing research ,,, published at international meetings ,,,,,,,, this is impossible
please if you have money donate some ,,, you can save lives
breast and prostate cancer mortality dropped 60% in the last 10 years ,,,,,
Reply:really? how do you know that the other treatment works?

Do Americans Die From Cancer More Than Any Other Nation in the World?!?
ANYBODY could get cancer. even if they're healthy.
just recently, Eric Shanteau came second at the US olympic swimming trials, but he found out he has testicular cancer. (he's going to go ahead with the Olympics, and get surgery later)
I don't know how many Americans die from cancer, but I do remember reading that more Americans survive more than any other nation because of the technology we have.
and it may not seem like other developed countries have the cancer problems we do because they have smaller populations.
Reply:I think it is due to the processed food, the junk injested, the poluting industries, the chemicals in nearly everything you use from soap to sunscreen. Statistically, the states does have the highest wordly cancer rates, while China and India are rather low for countries of their population......

I have really short hair and need a style to do it for a wedding.?
I shaved my head March 24th for childhood cancer research and now finding out my brother is getting married August 2nd of THIS year! I've been asked to be a bridesmaid and of course said YES! I normally spike my hair to go out and about but want something different. It's getting longer but I have been having problems finding a hair style that would work for me. I do not have much time! Any help would be awesome!
I have really short hair and need a style to do it for a wedding.?
you could get natural looking extentions until your hair grows back out, that would look really pretty(:
Reply:it depends how short ur hair is but this style might work.
get a very tiny clip like this
http://farm1.static.flickr.com/177/43944...
take some pieces or hair in the front from the middle of ur head. and take the clip and clip it so that the hair forms a little bump.
its soooo cute
Reply:Do something totally crazy so nobody will
realize you actually have a style problem...
instead, they will just think you're a "way out
chick" who's ahead of the pack.
Reply:maybe get a wig? a really good one, though. (:
or have it all straightened, sleek and shiny. (:
