How many tyes of cancer is there?

I know there are many types of Cancer but i am doing a research project and i would like to know how many types of cancer there is. [completely]

How many tyes of cancer is there?
There are over two different types of cancer and within those types are many, many variations and subtypes. There is not a cell in the body that cannot become cancerous. Anyway you can find a list of many of the common types of cancer at the National Cancer Institute site:

There are also about 200 different rare cancers for both pediatric and adults.

Reply:How many would you like?

Look in every organ of a human body you can get cancer.

So start easy: you have benign cancers (not bad or going to be, but because of their place can and will cause problems). Good example of that is a benign cerebral tumor, which is not a bad cancer but has to be removed anyway because of the pressure problems it will cause in the brains).

Then there are the malign cancers (mean ones, bad, causing death, causing meta's in other organs). Now every cell of an organ can produce cancer. Some are rare, other quite common.

Let's take a woman's breast: you have the skin over it (skin cancer (with diff types)), the ducts to the glands (ductal cancer), and the glands (breastcancer, with diff types). So in breast cancer alone, there are quite some types possible. After the operation, the anatomopathologist examines the surgical pieces under the microscope and finds out what type it is. This is important for the therapy, one type of cancer reacts better to a therapy then another.

So....

Want a sum? Can't say: Count all organs, multiply by two (good and bad) and multiply by the different kinds of cells each organ has....

I don't think any doc can give a precise answer.

So let's say there are hundreds of types of cancer. Best answer you can give....
