Unfotunately, no.
Cancer is not one desease, but a panoply of conditions with different causes. Treatment for one cancer doesn't work for other cancers. Childhood leukemia used to mean a death sentence, now the survival rates are approaching 90%
What would help to find cures for specific cancers would be an all out global commitment to finding cures for the individual conditions that comprise "cancer". A million dollars is a drop in the bucket, and frankly, trillions will be needed. And the funds can't be made available while we're (I mean the whole world) squandering them on war.
