I have to wait a week for my results and for the last two nights all I have done is researched every cancer site, it seems the more I research the more worried I get.......is this normal! Or do I need to stay off the sites...What would you do!
Am i being paranoid or is this normal? I'm worried over a biopsy, and I am looking up all the sites on cancer!
I'm the same way as you when it comes to reading information on the internet. However, you have to be very careful and make sure it is a reliable site that you are getting the info from, because there is a lot of misleading information out there. I had a biopsy about 2 years ago on a lump in my breast. It was very stressful waiting for the results, but it is best to distract yourself by doing stuff with your friends, etc. rather than spending too much time on the computer. My biopsy showed that it was not cancer and I hope your results are equally positive. Best of luck!
Reply:STAY OFF THE SITES! First of all most of the websites even Web md isnt always accurate. Try not to worry until you have something to worry about. But dont keep researching online you will only drive yourself crazy ... Good Luck
Reply:No you are normal I am awaiting a biopsy result for my mom right now they are worried it might be Lymphoma or Hotchkins Disease.....I am on the computer non stop trying to find some peace and sometimes it does help.....Keep the faith....
Reply:If researching cancer is stressing you out, you either need to A. stop researching it unless you should test positive, or B. learn to research with a detached state of mind, as if you're researching it for a stranger. There could be an advantage in researching it: should you test positive, you're that much further ahead on the learning curve. However, if it's just worrying and upsetting you, then you need to stop. Also, the suggestions above about making sure you're using reliable sources is a good one.
Reply:you are paranoid. if there was something devasting, you would have been notified immediately. relax and wait for the results.
