An alternate way to fight cancer?

Ok so recently after a friend has been diagnosed with testicular cancer I decided to research cancer and its treatment options. However in all of my research have I not found any treatment that makes the most sense to me. What I think of cancer is that it is a disease and every disease can be treated, however cancer sneaks under your immune systems radar so to speak. Now what I am wondering is if there has been any research on trying to activate the immune system to attack Cancer cells as if they are foreign bodies within the human body? That alternative just seems to make so much more sense than killing off a persons immune system with chemo, cutting them open with surgery, or treating them with radiation. Granted I am not an MD but I would love to hear from one on this question.

An alternate way to fight cancer?
Medical science is researching the idea of using the bodies own immune system to fight cancer or lessen its effects. It's called immunotherapy or biological therapy and there are clinical trials available. ( One of the most successful uses of biological therapy is the ability for filgrastim (G–CSF) to increase the bodies white blood cells after chemotherapy. The use of GCSF is pretty standard now for patients.)

I know people who have tried biological therapy, but so far in the type of sarcoma my son has there have not been many good results.

Reply:One MD said that most people who have cancer really have stupidity. If the person eats food he should know that 4,000 studies show that fruits and vegetables prevent cancer and meat makes it worse.

Reply:The development of vaccines made from a person's own tumore have been tried. I doubt you could come up with anything that has not been considered or tried.
Reply:Well, I had cervical cancer in almost stage 3 in 1995. I strongly believe, that your will and state of mind definately is a major factor. I had radiation to shrink the tumor before surgery because it was too big. I fought and fought and told it to get out of my body. Also, radiation doesn't hurt or seem to do as much damage, but I do have some residual problems because of the radiaiton, but it was a small price to pay to save my life. But, if it will help him/her to get rid of this, I would definately do what the Dr. suggests. That's my opinion.

Reply:no clue but it seems every day they come out and say "this", "that" and "this other thing" cause cancer. I don't think there is a real way to "fight" it, I mean what about the small kids that get it, I think if you're gonna get it you are and you just have to be strong and fight it with all that is in you. Don't let it win.
