I'm not sure what you're asking. ;-)

I don't know specifics but I do know that in some cases scientists have identified the specific gene strand that has caused a cell to become cancerous. As you may know normal cells have a 'switch' that makes them stop growing once an organ or tissue is complete within the body. That switch stays off preventing cells from growing uncontrollably. In the case of cancer for whatever reason the switch in that cell turns on and the cell starts to grow, replicating new cancer cells and eventually creating a misshapen, abnormal tumor with the ability to keep on growing. Research has focused not only on trying to kill these cancer cells . . but focused on finding a way to switch the cell back off.

If researchers can find a way to stop the switch from ever turning on in the first place . . than they may not only learn how to control cancer .. they may cure it. But, that is still along way off.
