I am running two half marathons and want to get patrons to sponsor me and I am hoping to send the money for colon and liver cancer research, will I need to get a lisence to do this, or is it okay to just go door to door to ask people?

Certainly check with city or local government first.
Reply:Going door to door and asking people can be considered fraud because you are not OFFICIALLY recognized by that organization yet you are claiming to represent them. Instead of contacting the city, contact the organization and tell them what you'd like to do. You really need their support to do this legitimately.
